Mackenzie Coy is a Litigation Attorney with experience in labor and employment law litigation worldwide before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Federal Labor Relations Authority, and State and Federal Courts. Ms. Coy also has experience in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters.

Ms. Coy was born and raised in northern Indiana. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science – Legal Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in African/African-American Studies from Indiana State University in 2004. In 2005, Ms. Coy attended the University of Western Cape, South Africa, where her studies focused on International Business Transactions, International Alternative Dispute Resolution and Comparative Constitutional Law. In 2007, she earned a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law. At Howard University School of Law, Ms. Coy participated in the University’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Clinic and served as Vice President of the American Constitution Society, Howard University Chapter. She is currently admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Coy has served as a trial attorney for over ten years, and has handled complex, civil law litigation under a wide variety of federal and state civil rights statutes. Her work as a trial attorney includes representing federal, state and private employees and defending private employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Merit Systems Protection Board, the District of Columbia Superior Court, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Ms. Coy also clerked in the District of Columbia Superior Court, where she worked under Judge Jeanette Clark and Senior Judge Truman Morrison on the criminal misdemeanor docket as well as the civil calendar docket. She is an active member of the District of Columbia Bar Association, and a former Board Member of the Metropolitan Washington Area Lawyer’s Association.
