Some of the highlighted cases are as follows:
In 2023, Client (1) contacted Pitre & Associates due to an Internal Investigation being conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service for misconduct. The Internal Investigation resulted in the Agency issuing a Proposed Demotion and 45-day Suspension. After providing our Written and Oral Replies, the Agency moved forward with its proposal and Demoted Client from his GS-14 Supervisory Position to a GS-13 non-supervisory position and suspended him for 45 days. After a two-day hearing before the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) in July of 2024, where Managing Partner, A. Marques Pitre, vigorously argued that the Agency’s actions improper and unreasonable, in February of this year, the Administrative Judge ruled in our client’s favor and overturned the demotion, reinstating the Client back to his GS-14 Supervisory position. This decision will likely result in over $15,000 in backpay, and likely more than $175,000 in Attorney’s Fees.*
Pitre & Associates settled Client’s (1) discrimination and hostile work environment complaint against the U.S. Department of Transportation, which was brought on the bases of Disability and Age when the Agency removed her from her position in June 2023. After hiring the firm in September of 2024, we successfully navigated discovery through the EEOC’s Hearing process; and instead of engaging in Motions practice, the Agency agreed to settle client’s case for $75,000 in Compensatory damages, $20,000 in Attorney’s Fees, including the rescission of the removal, which was changed to a voluntary resignation. The Client’s Union representative stated that she couldn’t believe our firm was able to get such amazing terms for their member.
Pitre & Associates settled a discrimination and hostile work environment complaint against the U.S. Department of the Navy which Client (1) filed on the bases of race, age, disability, and reprisal. In 2024, Client retained Pitre & Associates to represent him during the EEOC hearing phase of his case. Immediately, the firm secured mediation for the Client, which resulted in a lump sum settlement of $85,000.
In 2024, Client (1) hired Pitre & Associates to represent him in his discrimination and hostile work environment complaint against the U.S. Department of State, which he brought on the basis of Age and Reprisal. When Client contacted the firm, he was in the midst of the EEO investigation phase of his case. The firm assisted the Client through the investigation of his complaint, and once completed, assisted in requesting an EEOC hearing. After zealously representing Client during the EEOC’s discovery process, Pitre & Associates was able to settle Client’s complaint for $90,000 in compensatory damages and $16,578 in Attorney’s Fees, and reinstatement of 150 hours of leave.
Client had the following to say about the services he received:
Ma'am, I suspect you know this already, but I found your services (your direct work and involvement specifically) OUTSTANDING. I will also add that I was incredibly impressed with the initial time and consultation that Mr. Pitre provided me when I first called (on a weekend no less). In fact, his clarity and focus during that initial call sold me that your firm was the one for me. I had called three other firms before reaching out to your firm, but I was not convinced they would handle my case in the manner I wanted it handled. In short, YOU, Ma’am, were absolutely what I was looking for. I greatly appreciate your guidance and feedback (especially at times when I had a different opinion on how we should attack, or when I suggested we stay in the fight longer). Knowing I could not be objective, I fully deferred to your knowledge and experience in this type of law, the court system, the judge, and even with opposing counsel. I was completely trusting of your decision making throughout the process. Ma'am, You nailed it!
