Year in Review: Pitre & Associates Once Again Hits the Million Dollar Mark Despite Government Shutdown!

|

In 2025, the firm accumulated approximately $1,180,206 dollars for our clients in combined Settlements, Damages Awards, Salary Retention and Disability Retirement payments!!

Pitre and Associates continues to maintain a standard of greatness by once again surpassing their goal of reaching a minimum of one million dollars per year in compensation and awards for its clients. This year is even more impressive, when you take into account the 42-day government shutdown, and the fact that the Trump administration has made it even harder on Agency’s to settle employee complaints.

Here’s a breakdown of what we were able to achieve in 2025:

  • P&A Successfully litigated an Merit Systems Protection Board Appeal is response to our client being demoted and issued a 45-day Suspension. After taking the case to a hearing, Managing Partner, A. Marques Pitre, vigorously argued that the Agency’s actions were improper and unreasonable, and as a result, a decision was issued by the Administrative Judge that overturned the demotion, reinstating the Client back to his GS-14 Supervisory position. After an appeal by the Agency has been resolved, this decision will result in over $15,000 in backpay, and likely more than $175,000 in Attorney’s Fees.*
  • P&A facilitated a $238,000 backpay award after negotiating our client’s ability to apply for disability retirement instead of removal.
  • P&A settled an Office of Special Counsel (OSC) complaint for $14,669 in compensatory damages and attorney’s fees.
  • P&A settled 8 Federal EEOC cases, where we negotiated over $477,136 in compensatory damages, restoration of leave, and attorney’s fees for our clients.
  • P&A settled 3 race discrimination cases and 1 retaliation case at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia for a combined amount of $151,000 in compensatory damages and attorney’s fees.
  • P&A settled a race discrimination case at the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland for $47,500 in compensatory damages and attorney’s fees; and a termination changed to a voluntary resignation.
  • Managing Partner, A. Marques Pitre, was once again acknowledged as a 2025 Lawyer of Distinction©, and the firm was awarded Business Rate’s Best Employment Attorney in 2025.

*Backpay and Attorney’s Fees amount underdetermined due to Agency Appeal.
